Mimi Zaphiratos is a Paris-raised, Vietnam-born, Chicago-based artist who works with numerous mediums. Her latest masterpiece is a 6 foot by 6 foot fiberglass horse “Lady” painted for the Horses of Honor fundraising project, – commissioned by The Chicago’s First Lady Cruises -, and will be displayed on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Frequently working with oil paint, Mimi’s paintings range from abstract depictions of whimsical worlds, to darker and more introspective figurative pieces. Mimi also paints on porcelain dishware, transforming it into functional art fit for Versailles. She has also worked with fashion, painting on leather garments and shoes. Her studio is located in downtown Chicago and she currently exhibits at the 4Art gallery in the Zhou B Art Center.
